Town: Council Approves RH Gallery & Restaurant

On Tuesday, October 7, Chamber CEO Jennifer Lin voiced the Chamber’s strong support for the RH Gallery & Restaurant project at 31 University Ave., emphasizing its benefits to economic vitality and our small-business ecosystem. The Town Council unanimously approved the project—accepting the Planning Commission’s recommendation to unify the exterior design and granting the corresponding Conditional Use Permit.

State: California: Newsom Signs Restaurant Flexibility Bill

Newsom signed AB 592, giving restaurants flexibility to use foldable storefront doors and windows to expand outdoor dining without triggering costly code upgrades. It streamlines permits and trims red tape—making it faster to add seats and street appeal. Local jurisdictions still control street use, sidewalks, parking, and design codes.
