Dear Friends and Members of the Chamber,

We’re just two weeks away from Taste of Los Gatos!

On Saturday, September 19, from 12 to 5 p.m., downtown Los Gatos will come alive for one of the most anticipated days of the year. With N. Santa Cruz Avenue closed from Main Street to Bachman Avenue and Village Lane closed to traffic, Taste of Los Gatos gives our community a once-a-year opportunity to experience the flavors of Los Gatos, along with local wine pours, dynamic live music and exciting shopping—and the freedom to stroll the closed festival streets with a beverage purchased from the Chamber Tap Truck or Tap Wall.

What I love most about Taste of Los Gatos is how food brings people together. We discover new flavors together, and somewhere along the way, we build deeper connections.

This year’s festival has even more to explore, and I’m especially excited about the curated showcase of vintage and collectible Porsches at our Vintage on Village Experience. It’s a fun new dimension to the festival and another reason to spend the afternoon exploring downtown.

The Tasting Wristband is absolutely the best way to enjoy Taste of Los Gatos. I encourage you to purchase now to take advantage of advance pricing, as we do expect to sell out. Scroll down for more festival details.

Also launching at Taste of Los Gatos is the 2nd edition of the Los Gatos Perks Pass, with new ways to enjoy perks and offers from our local businesses.

And as we look ahead to October, we’re thrilled to continue celebrating our local dining scene with InduLGe Los Gatos Restaurant Week, October 12–18—our town’s first-ever Restaurant Week.

Bring your appetite and join us for a memorable afternoon in the heart of Los Gatos. I look forward to seeing you downtown!

Warmly,

Jennifer Lin

CEO, Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce

Advocacy Alert

Local: Town Council to Review Hwy 17/Hwy 9 Congestion Relief Project

The Los Gatos Town Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, September 15, at 5 p.m. for an update on the State Route 17 Corridor Congestion Relief Project. VTA, the Town and Caltrans are planning improvements to Highway 17 and the Highway 17/Highway 9 interchange to improve traffic operations, reduce cut-through traffic and improve bicycle and pedestrian mobility. Project staff will discuss cost, schedule and analysis, with the Draft Environmental Document expected later this fall The project could significantly affect customer access, employee commutes and deliveries for Los Gatos businesses, particularly during peak travel periods. Businesses that rely on the Highway 17 corridor should follow the project's progress and upcoming milestones. Click here for more information.

National: Fed Rate Hike on the Table for September

The Federal Reserve is considering whether to raise interest rates at its September meeting, with the decision likely to hinge on the August inflation report due September 11. Fed Governor Christopher Waller said Thursday he would favor holding rates steady if inflation continues to cool, but would consider a hike if inflation comes in higher than expected. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh has also signaled that more action may be needed to bring inflation down. For businesses, the uncertainty could affect borrowing costs and decisions on financing, expansion and investment. Businesses considering major financing should watch the September inflation report and Fed decision closely. Click here and here for more information.
