Donna Visits the Los Angeles Air Force Base
This past Thursday, I was provided the remarkable opportunity of attending the Full Operating
Capability (FOC) at the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Los Angeles Air Force Base (LA
AFB). Los Angeles Air Force Base houses and supports the headquarters of the United States
Space Force's Space and Missile Systems Center. The center manages research, development,
and acquisition of military space systems.

As a member of the Honorary Commander's Program, I have been partnered with Colonel
Thomas R. Rock Jr. He is the Senior Materiel Leader for the Range and Network Division, Space and
Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, CA. He leads over 250 government and contractor
personnel modernizing and sustaining the world- wide Air Force Satellite Control Network
(AFSCN) as well as the nation's Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) located at
Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Read More

Torrance Armed Forces Day 5K for Freedom: Runner Application Is Up!
Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Fifth Annual Torrance Armed Forces Day 5K for Freedom on Saturday, May 16th at 8:00 AM. This 5K provides an opportunity for the community to run alongside troops from all six branches of the military. A special segment of the 5K for Freedom, in tribute to Louis Zamperini, is where active duty service men and women run in formation in PT gear and call out cadence. The Military units that participate in the race represent “freedom”, which exists in America because of the sacrifices of our service members, for whom we are incredibly grateful.

We encourage organizations, businesses and residents to form teams and participate in this memorable event! The first place overall male and female runners of the 5K For Freedom are invited to ride in the Torrance Armed Forces Day Parade the same day! Applications to run in the 5K are now available! Don’t miss out! Click Here for Application | Click Here for Calendar Event | Click Here for Torrance5k.com
