Congratulations BizFed on Your 10th Anniversary
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is a member of BizFed, an organization with more than 170 business organizations representing 390,000 employers with 3.5 employees throughout Los Angeles County. BizFed is a massive, diverse grassroots alliance that advocates for policies and projects that strengthen our regional economy.

Biz Fed provides high-level access to key policymakers, elected officials and thought leaders which the TACC finds very valuable. Additionally, BizFed has provided TACC with information on timely issues affecting business and has assisted to organize, educate and mobilize south bay business leaders to be catalysts for a stronger economy in Los Angeles County.
Betsy Brien and Brandon Matson, Torrance Refining Company, join with Donna Duperron in wishing BizFed a happy 10 th anniversary.
TACC Supports Los Angeles Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, representing over 750 businesses throughout the Los Angeles South Bay Region, has sent a letter to Brian Kelly, Secretary, California State Transportation Agency to express support for the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) grant application, submitted by the Los Angeles County Metro, for the South Bay Light Rail Extension to Crenshaw Boulevard in Torrance. The South Bay Light Rail Extension is of the utmost urgency and the TACC is joined by many local, state and federal elected officials who represent the South Bay, in support of this critical project.

This project is part of an important modernization program that involves the construction of six new transit corridor projects, that will increase Metro light rail and bus networks by approximately 60 miles. Once completed, Metro will connect Los Angeles County with the growing network of transit and rail lines throughout Southern California and beyond, including intercity rail service. Given the existing and projected traffic congestion, in the most congested region in California, the opportunity to provide cost-efficient transit options that will enhance transit access, mobility, travel times and safety for numerous communities and thousands of Metro riders, must be seized now.
Members Gather for 19th Annual TACC & JBA Grand Mixer
Last night, members of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and Japan Business Association gathered at Robinson Helicopter Company in Torrance for the 19th annual Grand Mixer and business exchange. The event was kicked off with a ceremonial sake cask opening ceremony and traditional toast. It was a great event and a reminder of the wonderful business community we serve.

Special thanks are extended to Robinson Helicopter Company for graciously hosting the event in their hangar, Red Car Brewery & Restaurant for catering the event, and the various businesses and organizations that set up booths and donated to the raffle.
Reminder: Post Form 300A Starting February 1

Employers are required to post only the summary (Form 300A) — not the Form 300 (Log). The summary must list the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred in the previous year and were logged on the Form 300. Read more...
