Annual Hazardous Waste Removal

Anyone 65 years of age and older is provided one annual free home pickup of hazardous waste from the “Our One Earth” SD County Hazardous Waste Center at 877-713-2784 (if using a landline dial 1). For more information about what hazardous waste is, brochures are available at the Chamber.

New Pilot Program for Seniors Approved by County Board of Supervisors

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved today a pilot program to create housemate matches between lower-income older adults and locals with a spare bedroom.

SDG&E crews will upgrade nearly 30 transmission poles around the Borrego Springs community between Wednesday, February 7 and Friday, February 9. To accommodate the work, customers will experience a momentary outage (less than 15 minutes) at 3 a.m. February 7 and again on February 9 as crews transfer to and from the larger energy grid. At SDGE we understand these outages can be disruptive and appreciate your patience while we conduct this important work to build a more resilient electric system.
