Duperron Voices Challenges of Small to Medium Size Business 
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to convene with 11 Chamber executives from southern California to voice the challenges being faced by small to medium size businesses. Isabella Guzman, Director, Office of the Small Business Advocate with Governor Gavin Newsom's office listened as the chamber executives shared concerns and questions.

Prior to the meeting, I reached out to 25 business owners and leaders, all members of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. Appreciation is extended to each of them for their honesty, for their attention to detail in response and for their tenacity in operating their business. I was able to share a compelling document that highlighted six major concerns of of chamber members; minimum wage, workforce, healthcare, housing, regulations and taxes. The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce proudly presented on of the most highly anticipated events of the year last Thursday - State of the Region! Businesses to Attorney General: “We Need More Time!”
Business owners are growing anxious about the timeline to comply with new California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regulations – for good reason. CCPA requires businesses to be in full compliance with the new regulations by July 1 of this year – but there are still no regulations to comply with. Read More
Duperron attends Parsons Space Integration Facility Grand Opening
President and CEO, Donna Duperron joins Carey Smith, President and Chief Operating Officer, Parsons Corporation for the grand opening of the Parsons Space Integration Facility, a first-of-its-kind small satellite launch integration depot.

The 5th Annual 5K For Freedom !
Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Fifth Annual Torrance Armed Forces Day 5K for Freedom on Sat., May 16th at 8:00 AM. This 5K provides an opportunity for the community to run/jog/walk alongside troops from all six branches of the military! We encourage organizations, businesses and residents to form teams and participate in this memorable event! Do you want to be on the 5K Planning Committee? Water Is Life. It’s Also a Battle. What Does The Future Hold For California?
Water plays a lead role in the state’s political theater, with Democrats and Republicans polarized, farmers often fighting environmentalists and cities pitted against rural communities. Rivers are overallocated through sloppy water accounting. Groundwater has dwindled as farmers overdraw aquifers. Read More.
'Destination: Art' Installs New Artwork in Chamber Offices
Chamber member Destination: Art has installed many new pieces of art in the Chamber office this week. All art is made by local artists in the South Bay, with some of the pieces depicting Torrance landscapes or landmarks. The community is encouraged to stop by the Chamber office to view or purchase the art.
