Message from our Honorary Co-Mayors
Here we are.
Year-end festivities are in the past. Decorations have been put away. Even the cold winter weather may be waning. It sure was chilly over the past couple of weeks as yesterday was 77 degrees. An early January tease. I loved the warmth. Can’t wait for
consistent warm weather. It will come soon enough.
There sure were a lot of tourists over the past couple of weeks.
The town was hopping. We actually had to wait for traffic to pass. This was a prelude to Spring. It looks like we will have a lot of visitors this year, with or without a super bloom.
Businesses look forward to the annual influx of snowbirds,
weekenders and campers. Whether we like it or not, we live
in a tourist town.
The winter and spring visitors allow our town to survive. Just like the flora and fauna, this is the season to get our affairs in order so that we can survive the summer.
Summer is always just around the corner. Summer is when
we “get our town back.”
We love the peace it brings. Part of why we live here.
