US Employers Post More Jobs in June, Pull Back on Hiring
U.S. employers advertised more jobs in June compared with the previous month, but overall hiring fell, painting a mixed picture of the job market. The number of jobs posted on the last day in June jumped 9.6% to 5.9 million, the Labor Department said Monday, a solid gain but still below the pre-pandemic level of about 7 million. And employers hired 6.7 million people in June, down from 7.2 million in May, a record high. Read more.

The People’s Voice: Coronavirus Edition

'Memory Monday' with the Chamber
Colonel Thomas Rock Jr., (center) Space and Missile Systems Center, LA AFB is welcomed by members of the Torrance Police Department, Rob Van Lingen, Kirk Rossberg, Brandon Matson, Donna Duperron, Laurie Brandt and Bob Brandt in 2016. This gathering was the result of the Honorary Commander Program at LA AFB. 

The Honorary Commander Program partners the commanders of LA AFB with some of the South Bay's distinguished community and political leaders. The program encourages an exchange of ideas, experiences and friendships between key leaders of the surrounding communities and LA AFB. By building and strengthening community relationships, commanders and honorary commanders can positively impact their community.
