As May brings us more interesting weather, it also brought vandals to the Chamber. Someone tried to pry open one of our storage sheds but didn't quite succeed. As I mentioned on Facebook, they would have been disappointed, a reminder to secure your belongings.

Our May Mixer Mashup will happen on May 20 (Tuesday),

at Michael's in Borrego.

With respect to the host location, please RSVP by 5/18/25 and not

the day of the event!

We have a squirrel that has decided to build a hotel next to our

parking lot. Our goal is to catch and release, far, far, away.

Any suggestions on what will lure it into a cage?

Hmmmm, maybe he was the one trying to get into the shed.

Carlee’s : Open all summer, 7 days a week. Kitchens is open from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Desert Lovers & Company : Last Day Open, Monday, May 26th 11-4 PM. Closed until October. Visit desertloversandco.com to shop local goods and gifts. Free local delivery from online orders while shop is closed.

Annual Hazardous Waste Removal

Anyone 65 years of age and older is provided one annual free home pickup of hazardous waste from the “Our One Earth” SD County Hazardous Waste Center at 877-713-2784 (if using a landline dial 1). For more information about what hazardous waste is, brochures are available at the Chamber.

Borrego Community Cleanup

Borrego's community clean-up is held the first Saturday of every month, commencing at The Circle and fanning out to nearby areas either on foot or by car to pick up litter. The Chamber provides bags and pickers;

all you need to do is bring yourself.

Start time is usually 9 a.m., but earlier/variable during summer and fall.

American Legion/ Memorial Day

Call For Volunteers

The annual Borrego Springs Memorial Day remembrance is less than 3 weeks away. Post 853 needs volunteers for this ceremony. For a schedule, list of areas needing help, or to volunteer in general, please call Dale at 209-327-6395.

New Welcome Signs

The Borrego Village Association (BVA) has been working closely with a volunteer committee to replace the aging welcome signs that greet visitors and residents of Borrego Springs. Originally installed in the 1970s, these signs are now faded, worn, and no longer reflect the vibrancy of our community. After an extensive planning process—including two community surveys and broad outreach—we have finalized three new welcome sign designs and selected ideal locations for them.
