Torrance Chamber Recognized by California Chamber of Commerce for Advocacy Efforts

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce will be recognized for excelling in advocating for their members and working with the CalChamber policy team on coalition activities throughout the year.


The 2024 Advocacy Champion Award, in recognition of exemplary efforts over the past year, will be awarded at the Capitol Summit on May 8th in Sacramento. The Torrance Chamber is one of 15 in the state of California to receive this honor.

Torrance Chamber Takes Action

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has taken positions on a number of bills that were introduced this legislative cycle. Through the Government Affairs Policy (GAP) group that meets monthly and the Advocacy Agenda, the chamber has joined coalitions and sent several letters of opposition and support.

24th Annual Blueprint for Workplace Success: Youth and Young Adult Job Fair

The South Bay Workforce Investment Board is hosting its 24th Annual Blueprint for Workplace Success Youth and Young Adult Job Fair at El Camino College on April 25. This event is open for youth and young adults aged 16-24 and runs from 10 AM to 2 PM. With over 75 employers hiring, it’s a prime opportunity for attendees to jumpstart their careers. Sacramento Leaves Lasting Impression on Leadership Torrance Cohort

Members of Leadership Torrance, class of 2024, visited Sacramento this past Sunday and Monday. Mark Waronek, past chairman of the chamber board and graduate of Leadership Torrance, planned an experience that will not be forgotten by participants. Waronek, for several years, has been scheduling meetings with legislators, a tour of the capitol and memorable outings in Sacramento for each of the cohorts. Mock Interview Day Success at Ambassador Christian School

On behalf of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ambassador Christian School for welcoming us to participate in the mock internship interviews with their students. This initiative has provided invaluable real-world interview experience to students preparing for summer internships, fostering essential skills and confidence. The students came prepared with resumes and transcripts, and the interviews were conducted from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM. The students will receive feedback from the mock interviews to help them better prepare for the future.  We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to the professional development of your talented students and look forward to our continued partnership.

State Senators and Assemblymember to Address the Business Community

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is set to host the 'State of the State' event, scheduled for the morning of Friday, May 3rd, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance - South Bay. State Senator Ben Allen from the 24th District, State Senator Steven Bradford from the 35th District, and Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi from the 66th District will give an update on issues impacting Torrance businesses, along with important efforts on which they are working on.
