GO-Biz Will Accept Applications for California Competes Tax Credits Starting January 6, 2025

The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC). There are at least $215 million in tax credits available during this application period for businesses that are expanding and adding quality, full-time jobs in California that might not otherwise be created by the business or any other business. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, January 27, at 11:59 p.m. PST and the online application website will automatically close once this deadline has passed. City to Present at January Meeting

City of Torrance representatives will inform chamber members at the January 9th, Government Affairs Policy (GAP) meeting on the ongoing efforts to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The presentation will focus on the street outreach team and how the city collaborates with businesses to address homelessness. Zulma Gent, Norma Olvera, and Irene Sanchez will discuss the city’s efforts to support those in need and make a positive impact on the local community.

Kick Off 2025 with Networking: Business at Noon at Snax

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce invites members to the first Business at Noon event of 2025 on Tuesday, January 14th, from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM, at Snax. This monthly networking opportunity provides a platform for business leaders in the Torrance Area to expand their professional connections while enjoying lunch in a casual setting. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards and an item to raffle, promoting their business to fellow members. With RSVPs required and limited to Chamber members, this event offers an ideal chance to foster relationships and gain exposure in the local business community.

The Young Professionals Group (YPG), hosted by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, offers an engaging opportunity for young professionals to connect and build relationships within the Torrance area.
