Former chairs of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors were acknowledged and recognized at the State of the Region Address yesterday. Introduced were Bill Oberholzer (1991), Philip deSouza (2007), Mark Applegate (2008), Mark Waronek (2008), Tara O'Brien (2012), Aaron Aalcides (2013), Sherry Kramer (2014 & 2024), Heidi Cunningham (2015), Laurie Brandt (2018) and Minal Mondkar (2023).
It was such a special time to celebrate our past chairs and to thank each of them for the remarkable leadership they provided to the chamber.

Voice your viewpoint on Metro's C-line Extension | |
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce supports Metro's C-line extension by advocating for the Right of Way (ROW) with Elevated/At-Grade option. Mark Dierking, Community Relations Manager and Georgia Sheridan, Senior Planning Director for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority have provided several presentations and updates to the chamber's Government Affairs Policy committee. The chamber invites you to voice your viewpoint on the C-line alignment preference by providing comment at an in-person meeting or live public comment on the phone. The City of Torrance is launching “Pitch Torrance” on Tuesday, March 19th from 2-5 p.m. at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center – Toyota Meeting Hall.

Each May, in coordination with the Torrance Armed Forces Day Celebration, the longest running military-sanctioned event of its kind west of the Mississippi, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and UCLA Health proudly presents the 5K for Freedom Run/Walk in Tribute to Louis Zamperini.
Runners, walkers, and joggers participate in the annual event, showing their support for the brave service members of the United States Armed Forces. 2024’s celebration highlights the United States Space Force. The 5K route follows the eucalyptus-lined Torrance Boulevard, on the same route on which the City of Torrance’s Armed Forces Day Parade is held later in the day. Read More...
