Several individuals in our community are familiar with Red Car Brewery and Restaurant, but I imagine there are more individuals in our community that know, respect and call owners Bob and Laurie Brandt ‘friends.’ After 25 years of providing a warm and welcoming place for patrons, Bob and Laurie have sold Red Car, a staple of the South Bay community, dedicated to comfort, quality, and service.
I am one of those individuals who is proud to call Bob and Laurie true friends. In the 23 years I have known them, they have continually given back, they have assumed leadership roles in organizations, and they have been remarkable parents, mentors, and role models. Laurie served as Chairwoman of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce in 2018, providing a business perspective and an individualized touch in all that she did. Chamber to Hear Impacts of SB222 | |
Join the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce for the Government Affairs Policy meeting on Thursday, March 13th, at noon. The meeting will feature a presentation by Zachary Leary of the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) discussing Senate Bill 222 (introduced by Senator Weiner), a proposal that would allow individuals to pursue legal action against oil and gas companies for climate‐related damages. There will also be a presentation by City Ventures on the upcoming development project at 1407 Crenshaw Blvd. Members are encouraged to attend and learn about these topics and their potential implications for local businesses and the community. | |

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Conference Room is available for rent, providing a professional and well-equipped space for business meetings, presentations, and gatherings. With seating for up to 40 guests, free Wi-Fi, and a large TV screen with HDMI connectivity, it’s the ideal setting to host productive discussions. Rentals are available Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, when not in use by the Chamber.
