THANK YOU!

Everyone is talking about the Chamber produced and managed

Certified Farmer's Market. I would like to remind everyone that the market is not a swap meet or flea market, many of our vendors drive at least two hours to offer you their products and we thank them for that.

I also try and keep the market balanced as far as what is offered in hopes that all vendors prosper and the attendees aren't looking at the same type of products over and over. This is rare as most market managers do not take their vendors into consideration and focus only on filling spaces.

As we open this Friday at 8 AM, I ask you to be patient as the new vendors, and there are five at this time, will probably take a little longer to set up. It's a new location for them and they won't know their area until Friday morning because at this writing I'm still figuring it out.

New to the market will be sourdough bread, kettle corn, palette wood furniture,

artists, lavender oils and such.

8 AM - Noon - Christmas Circle

Pets must be on lease as per health codes

Remember there are no trash cans at the Circle so please take what you bring including dog waste!

Market mornings are busy with vendors needing to park along the curb to unload, please do not come early and fill up the spaces...vendors need those and their cars will be moved before the market opens.

Opening day The RAM Radio will be broadcasting live and bringing us our music, stop by and say hello to Michael Rue.

Let's have a great season!

Many of the streets in Borrego Springs are named after the brands

(used on branding irons) of past ranches in the area.

Can you name this brand?

Borrego Community Cleanup

Borrego's community clean-up is held the first Saturday of every month, commencing at The Circle and fanning out to nearby areas either on foot or by car to pick up litter. The Chamber provides the bags and pickers;

all you need to do is bring yourself.

Beginning on November 7th, the Community Clean-up will return to the regular time and place: 9 am at Christmas Circle. Newcomers are welcome to help keep our village clean!

Borrego Springs Community Sponsor Group – Seeking New Members

At our last Community Sponsor Group meeting, held on October 7, we discussed membership and the need to fill several vacancies on our Board.

As a reminder, all members of the Borrego Springs Community Sponsor Group are appointed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Our role is to represent the interests and concerns of the Borrego Springs community to the San Diego County government.

Two members have recently notified us that they need to resign from the Board for personal reasons. As a result, we will have three vacant seats and are reaching out to the community for individuals interested in serving.

At our October meeting, we discussed whether applicants must be registered voters in Borrego Springs. We subsequently contacted the County for clarification and learned that applicants must be registered voters, but they do not need to be registered to vote in Borrego Springs. However, all members must own property or reside within our community.

Did You Know?

Bananas are curved because they grow toward the sun: Bananas undergo a process called "negative geotropism," meaning they grow upward against gravity and toward the light, which gives them their signature bend.
