Many of the streets in Borrego Springs are named after the brands

(used on branding irons) of past ranches in the area.

Can you name this street?

Borrego Community Cleanup

Borrego's community clean-up is held the first Saturday of every month, commencing at The Circle and fanning out to nearby areas either on foot or by car to pick up litter. The Chamber provides bags and pickers;

all you need to do is bring yourself.

For more information, call Marcy Yates,

(760) 767-4287.

Community Clean Up is returning to its regular place and time on November 1st: Christmas Circle at 9 am on the first Saturday of the month.

Did You Know?

The first beer gardens originated in Bavaria, Germany, with the earliest examples appearing in Munich around the 16th century. Brewers dug cellars to store beer, planted trees for shade, and eventually added tables and benches for customers to enjoy their beer outdoors. One specific "first" mentioned is a garden called "Krug's Garden," which opened in Munich in 1589.
