Out & About
with TACC President & CEO Donna Duperron
Owner Dr. Ahmed Atallah (left), with Fox Drug pharmacists.
Donna Visits Fox Drug of Torrance
As you walk toward the entrance of Fox Drug of Torrance, it is very apparent what holiday or season is occurring. The large window display continually changes and is always so creative. As you enter Fox Drug you immediately feel like you are in a store that has a little bit of everything. Fox Drug of Torrance is family owned and has been serving our community since 1988. Dr. Ahmed Atallah and Samia Zaki, owners, combine for over 60 years as professional pharmacists.
"We struggle at times as an independent store," said Dr. Atallah. "It is often difficult to compete with larger chain stores, but we are continually looking at ways we can grow our business. We emphasize the fact that we offer old fashion service with free local prescription delivery; however, we are also in front of all new technology."

Assemblyman Hadley Honors Donna Duperron as South Bay Woman of the Year
South Bay Assemblyman David Hadley honored Donna Duperron yesterday as the 2016 Woman of the Year for the 66th Assembly District during a special Assembly ceremony at the State Capitol. Mrs. Duperron serves as President & CEO of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and is a respected community leader.
"Donna Duperron has greatly benefitted our community both as a local business leader and as an active volunteer supporting many of our non-profit organizations and charitable events," said Hadley. "She makes an incredible difference in the South Bay every day, and is a clear choice to be honored as my Woman of the Year."

Introducing the Grassroots Advocacy Center at TorranceChamber.com
#TakeAction
As the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce continues to expand and innovate its advocacy outreach, the Chamber is thrilled to announce the Grassroots Advocacy Center that just launched yesterday.
The Center is a web page dedicated to providing one cohesive place for members and the community to see which issues the Chamber is taking a stance on. Following the links to any of these issues will bring users to a post that explains the issue and explains why TACC supports or opposes it.
Best of all, the Center offers an easy way for the community to get involved and back the Chamber's efforts - which can have big impacts in Sacramento. Now you can #TakeAction!

The TACC is Leading the Way with the BizFed Annual Survey - Calling all Members to Contribute
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) has partnered with the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed) to encourage businesses and nonprofit organizations to complete the 2016 BizFed Pulse Poll. BizFed's annual poll is your chance to communicate what's helping or hurting your business. This year's poll offers a first-of-its-kind feature: if TACC can get at least fifteen members to take the survey, the Chamber will receive customized data based on our members' responses. This data would provide invaluable information and analysis that the Chamber needs to focus its advocacy efforts behind TACC members' priority concerns.
The survey will be open until March 31. At the end of the survey, please "click" the box next to Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce to let BizFed know you'd like to be counted towards TACC's response-count. Thank you!

Leadership Torrance at the private American Honda Museum
Keeping Up with Leadership Torrance
By Leadership Torrance Directors Domenica Megerdichian and David DeWitt
Leadership Torrance spent last Thursday in the community focusing on 'Business and the Environment.' We kicked off the morning at the Honda Museum, one of the hidden gems in Torrance, which is not open to the public. Leadership of Honda Research & Development as well as Business & Environment addressed the group, talking about design process & technology, the business sense in being environmentally friendly, and the social responsibility that comes with being a steward of our community.

How will your business stand out from the crowd?
Every member of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce appears in the business listings in the Torrance Magazine & Resource Guide, but how will you stand out from the crowd? Ad space is still available to give your business the visibility it deserves. Purchasing an ad also gives you space to write an article and share your expertise.
Contact Jeanne Garrison at (310) 317-9730 or at info@sienapublishing.com to find out more about ad space.
This year's issue will release in June.
