THE NEWS YOU NEED

Alex Nguyen will start his new position as Oxnard's city manager on July 9. On July 12 he will be at the Chamber's Knowledge & Networking Lunch. Mr. Nguyen graciously accepted an invitation to meet with business leaders in his first week on the job.

We did not request a formal presentation from Mr. Nguyen, rather, a brief talk about his approach to the job and to have interaction with the business community – more of a conversation.

Message from our CEO - Nancy Lindholm

NEARLY 5 MILLION CALIFORNIA JOBS AFFECTED BY TARIFFS

On July 2, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released an  analysis showing the state-by-state impact of retaliatory tariffs from China, the European Union, Mexico, and Canada, which have been imposed in response to new U.S. tariffs on imported goods. Raising tariffs will have adverse consequences and fails to consider the impact on our allies and trading partners.

The Chamber and its members are happy to see the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp come to town again this year. Their fans have quite an impact on local businesses.

The Chamber is always touting the positive impact the Cowboys have when they come to Oxnard.
