MORE ARTS AND CULTURE OPPORTUNITIES COMING IN 2020
More than a year has passed since Tacoma voters approved Tacoma Creates,  an art tax  that increased the sales tax by one-tenth of 1 percent through 2025 ( raised the city’s sales tax from 10.1 percent to 10.2 percent) to increase access to arts, culture, heritage and science experiences throughout the city.

What has been accomplished through Tacoma Creates?

$340K AWARDED TO FOCUS ON HOMELESSNESS IN PIERCE COUNTY
The  Washington State Department of Commerce  announced it will award $340,978 to Tacoma’s  REACH Center . The grant is part of $1.7 million in funds awarded to five projects aimed at serving unhoused families and students in K-12 public schools across the state. The funds will allow the REACH Center to expand its ACT program, which assists Pierce County students and families experiencing homelessness.
