The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce has implemented three goals in our new strategic plan. Two of our goals are to attract and serve a diverse group of members from all industries representing businesses in Greater Bethesda and to grow awareness of the Chamber among both members and the public.

Living up to these principles, we invite you to celebrate Black History Month with us through our third annual member spotlight series. This special feature helps our communities learn more about some of its leaders and their impacts they make every day.

This week past week, we've been honored to spotlight James Lewis, Client Advisor at Paradigm Homes, Andrew & Jasmine Dill, Founders of Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company, Leslie Frelow, Founder of The Wine Concierge and Tiffany Nesfield, CEO of Nesfield Performance.

Read their answers to our questions on leadership and life goals on our GBCC Blog!

Help us welcome two brand new businesses to Bethesda! Join us for our February Networking Happy Hour hosted by La Catrina Bar and Lounge and The St. James Performance Club.

Mosaic Visions is proud to partner on the first series of its "Black Jewish Community Hall Forum: Standing in Solidarity" with a collaboration with the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce's first cultural roundtable event.

Purpose & Background:

With racism and antisemitism evolving and growing in the 21st century with global public attention, now is the time to repair and rebuild the Black-Jewish communal relationship through collaborative community efforts and engagement. This event invites community activists, residents, policymakers, business owners, and students to attend this engaging and interactive discussion of how we can empower, build trust and relationships with each other and be active on community impact projects together.

The presenting organization, Mosaic Visions, is a Black-Jewish-led organization with a mission that works toward building bridges and coalition building for a tolerant, equitable, and just society. Suggested donations can be made so that programs like this can be supported. Other dates and panels will be announced in

Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA.

We are officially less than a year away from our Chamber's return to international travel. In partnership with Aventura World, we will be visiting Athens, Greece from November 3-11, 2023 and you are ALL invited. A minimum of $800.00 is required for initial deposit no later than April 21, 2023.

It is popular and easy to assign people to different generations and then talk about the millions of people in each group as if they all think and act alike. Yet, according to Ashton Applewhite, who is a leading spokesperson against ageism, generational framing fosters segregation and inequity while obscuring “the far larger role that class, race and gender play in shaping our lives.”

“Try describing what people are doing or saying or listening to instead of using their age as a key identifier,” she advises in “Let's Climb Out of The Generation Trap” at https://www.nextavenue.org/generation-trap/amp/.
