NEXT EXECS' SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE

As we approach the end of the 2022 school year, we here at the NextExecs are already planning for 2023. Join us in our 2nd Annual Backpack & School Supply Drive to benefit MCPS students, grade K-12. From now through August 11th, we are calling on all our GBCC members and community partners to help ensure our students are prepared for a successful school term when they return in the Fall. Some of our members last year held their own internal school supply drive and had the items delivered to our GBCC office in downtown Bethesda. Others supported the drive financially by donating money via our Chamber’s Venmo account or by sending a check payable to Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce. Please enter #mcpsbackpackdrive23 in the memo line. All levels of support are greatly appreciated, and we will also be calling on volunteers to fill the backpacks and make the drop offs to area schools. Last year we filled over 300 backpacks and this year our goal is to fill at least 500, can we count you to help us reach that goal?

Click the button or contact the GBCC staff at

staff@greaterbethesdachamber.org for the full school supply list.

Minimum suggested donation amount of $20.00 is requested. Click here to donate via Venmo | Greater Bethesda Chamber

“For nearly 100 years, Americans have been told that they're supposed to follow a particular script: Turn 65. Retire. Move to a sunny state. Play golf. Hang out with grandkids. Begin the long slide down.”

Yet “65 isn’t the magic number for retirement anymore,” says Michael Clinton in Esquire at https://www.esquire.com/lifestyle/a42817195/retire-after-65/. Fifty-eight million Americans are 65 or older, and that number is growing by 10,000 a day. Moreover, if you’ve made it to 65, there is a good chance that you might live to be 90 or older.

The world has changed. Employers, the government and workers must embrace it.
