Winter Classic/Championship

at Virginia International Raceway

FINAL INFORMATION

Hello All,

We are a little over a week away from the green flag dropping at VIR. First, as always, please read through the Supplemental Rules and Schedule HERE (things may have changed). Refresh your browser & clear your cache so you are looking at the latest version 3.0 (again... subject to change).

Race Director: Andy Batts

Gates Open:

Test Day Participants Only: Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Non-Test Day Participants: Friday at 12 p.m. to staging lot for registration/tech to begin at 1 p.m. at the lot (3 p.m. access to North paddock)

Pit-Stall & Garage Assignments: Found HERE (we're working on a new self-select option for assignments in 2026). Normal format found HERE.

Tech & Registration: Friday from 1-3 PM in staging lot & again from 3:30-7 PM in our normal North paddock locations (tech shed and the registration room below the garages/pit lane suites)

To ensure a smooth and efficient process, it is imperative that you complete and submit your online tech sheet before arriving at the tech area; failure to do so may result in delays and the need to exit the line. Officials will pull up your sheet and review your car to approve your car for the 2025 season. If you have already been teched for 2025, you will still need to upload your tech sheet but do not need to go through tech.

TOYS FOR TOTS GIFT COLLECTION:

Warriors in Motion will be hosting a toy drive on behalf of Toys for Tots. The box for gift drop off will be in their paddock spot (they're hard to miss). Please consider bringing items to donate- I just read that they're not sure they will be able to meet the need this holiday season! Here are some guidelines:

Electronic Liability Waiver and Gear Check Agreement:

All drivers and crew must fill out BOTH the online waiver and gear check agreement. The waiver is the standard participation waiver, and the gear check is an agreement that you will comply with all of ChampCar's required safety equipment.

Flagtronics and Transponders:

Choose ChampCar v.0.8.1.1 firmware update. (MUST BE ChampCar 0.8.1.1 or HIGHER). If you are not using ChampCar firmware, your speeds will be incorrect, and you may receive a black flag for speeding under Code 35 or in Pit Lane.

Any Flagtronics issues, please reach out to bill.strong@champcar.org

Team Captain Reminders:

Please review your team's registration! Be sure your driver list and crew list are accurate and up-to-date before registration (ALL drivers & crew listed). Make sure all drivers AND crew members have a checkered flag next to their name and do not show *EXPIRED*. If they are expired, please contact them to renew their memberships before arrival at the track.

VIR CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION:

If you would like to stay updated on race/event conditions throughout the weekend, please add us on WhatsApp HERE.
