“Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family.”
~In 2011, New Orleans Archbishop Gregory Ayman composed this prayer to be recited at all local masses as an antidote to racism. Mother Henriette Delille is a woman of African descent and stands at the doorstep of sainthood. If canonized, she will become the first U.S.-born black person recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church.
