National ParkRx Day 2019
is Sunday, April 28. It’s a day when people from all different sectors organize events to encourage people to get out into green spaces and parks in an effort to embrace the health benefits of nature. Many fellows have been taking an active role in ParkRx initiatives in their own counties and recently several Bay Area fellows were able to present their work at the
Health Parks, Healthy People Forum
on April 9
th
. To learn more about their work, scroll down to the Organization Spotlight section.
With
Rethink Your Drink Day
also just around the corner (May 8),
we encourage fellows and local health departments to discuss ways in which they can partner to promote increased water consumption and decreased SSB consumption. Make sure to visit the
RTYD Day website
for a list of local activities.
Finally, we can’t wait to bring you highlights of the Champion Provider Fellowship onboarding taking place at the end of the month. Stay tuned for a complete event recap in next month’s e-newsletter.
