The 20th Annual Champions for Children Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 16, from noon to 1:30 p.m. This year's ceremony will take place again at Jungle Island, Bloom Ballroom, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, on Watson Island in Miami. The Champions for Children Awards Ceremony is The Children's Trust's signature event honoring individuals and programs that have achieved greatness in their service to children and families in Miami-Dade County.

Free Dyslexia and Literacy Workshops for Parents in Miami-Dade

Are you a parent eager to understand dyslexia, reading disorders, and literacy? The Lucy Project, funded by The Children's Trust and part of Trust Academy partners, offers free, in-person and virtual workshops across Miami-Dade County year-round to support every child’s reading journey. The Children's Trust Annual Report Available Now


The Children’s Trust Annual Report for fiscal year 2024-2025 and Annual Report Highlights are out! This report highlights the organization’s goals and objectives, along with related performance measures and standards, as required by law. The Children’s Trust’s goals are to plan, advocate for, and fund its priority investment areas specified in The Trust’s Strategic Framework (available for download at TheChildrensTrust.org/StrategicPlanning


Among the highlights this year are its increased commitment to serving children and families by partnering with 303 agencies to execute 437 contracts and numerous service agreements. These collaborations enabled the delivery of high-quality, accessible services tailored to address critical areas such as health, education, safety, and family support. The report also provides accountability and transparency for all The Trust’s funding - its commitment to financial excellence resulted in the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 13th consecutive year. 


The Trust Seeks Operator for Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

The Children's Trust is seeking proposals for a single organization to operate The Children’s Trust Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), a leadership development program for high school-age youth with a focus on service and civic engagement, especially relating to children and families in Miami-Dade County. The YAC serves as the youth voice of The Children’s Trust. The proposal should include student recruitment, staff engagement and retention, budgeting and purchasing, monthly meetings across Miami-Dade, activities, and local and out-of-town field trip planning and execution, student-led community service projects, and other program needs, while ensuring the program maintains The Children’s Trust YAC brand and identity. All proposals should also demonstrate experience with positive development of high school-age youth.

Training and Implementation Associates (TIA) is excited to launch Trauma Informed Care in Community Based Organizations, a new course designed for staff at every level! This training helps organizations address the daily impact of trauma on youth and families, while supporting staff well-being. Participants will gain practical, organization-wide strategies to integrate trauma-informed principles into all aspects of service delivery.

Read Conmigo School Impact Grants - Applications Now Open!

The Kemper Foundation’s 2026 Read Conmigo School Impact Grant application period is now open! These $10,000 grants support school- or program-wide initiatives that advance dual-language (Spanish-English) education for bilingual students at Title I elementary schools. Eligible schools must have an established dual-language (Spanish-English) program with at least one year of implementation. Grant applications must be submitted by the principal on behalf of their school by Sunday, March 15, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

This week, we are excited to highlight enFamilia, Inc., which has been part of the South Florida community for more than 25 years, providing a range of services funded by The Children’s Trust. The organization offers after-school programs for elementary and middle school students that include homework help, STEAM activities, Spark, and arts programming. Since 2003, enFamilia has also provided parenting and fatherhood classes to help parents build stronger relationships with their children. Child and Family Counselor Needed at Lotus House *

The Children’s Services team at Lotus House Women’s Shelter is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless children and their families. It utilizes evidence-based, early assessments of our children and families to deepen our understanding of the breadth and depth of their needs, as well as evidence-based therapeutic interventions with measurable outcomes to support, heal and strengthen. Our team combines clinical services with the rigors of research to continuously improve our standards of care, measure the impact of different therapeutic models, offering therapeutic supports to our children and potentially advancing the status of sheltered children everywhere.


They are seeking a seasoned Master’s or Doctoral level therapist to provide individual and family therapy for the children and their mothers at the shelter in addition to families in the community of Overtown. The candidate should be either licensed or a registered intern in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology with the State of Florida. Therapists with experience and/or certification or training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP); Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT); Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT); Video Feedback Interaction for Positive Parenting (VIPP); and/or Triple P (PPP) are also preferred. Clinicians with experience administering evidence-based assessments are also preferred.

The Advocacy Network on Disabilities (AND) is looking to hire a Client Support Specialist, to be responsible for assisting clients and all team members with administrative, clerical and general office support including answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting and directing visitors, as well as additional clerical duties related to supporting all agency Programs.
