TRAFFIC IMPACTS:  

Unless otherwise noted, work will be restricted to between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., all roadway and lane closures will reopen during the evening hours and on weekends, and access to residential and business driveways will be maintained. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists throughout the work zone. Businesses will remain open! Motorists should anticipate rough and uneven gravel driving surfaces throughout the project limits.

Lakeside Avenue between Pine Street and the westerly driveway of 128 Lakeside Avenue (the Innovation Center) will be intermittently reduced to a single-lane with alternating one-way traffic to facilitate the installation of sidewalk and potential paving operations.

Portions of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue will be under shoulder closures along the west side to facilitate shared-use path and curb work. Portions of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue will be under single-lane closure with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers and instances of lane shifts to facilitate stormwater work. There is the potential for the temporary loss of segments of on-street parking to facilitate lane shifts. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained along Pine Street each day between 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.



The intersection of Home Avenue and Queen City Park Road, and Flynn Avenue between Foster Street and just west of the railroad tracks will be under intermittent shoulder and single-lane closures to facilitate the installation of the sidewalk.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Please note that paving operations and curb installation are subject to weather and subcontractor availability. Curb installation will require temporary driveway closures. Impacted property owners will be notified.

Work will continue along Lakeside Avenue between Pine Street and the westerly driveway of 128 Lakeside Avenue (the Innovation Center) as crews continue reconstructing the roadway. Mid to late next week, there is the potential for paving operations and the installation of sidewalk to begin along Lakeside Avenue.

Work continues along the west side of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue. Crews will complete the earthwork for the construction of the shared-use path along Pine Street. This work will require the excavation of the area just west of the shared-use path and just east of the edge of pavement along the west side of Pine Street. Crews will backfill the area as they progress south and will pick up south of the Maltex Building. Crews will continue prepping for the installation of the curb along Pine Street and anticipate beginning to install the curb mid to late next week. Crews will begin installing stormwater infrastructure along the west side of Pine Street. This work will require lane shifts or lane reductions with alternating one-way traffic along Pine Street. 

Crews will be installing sidewalk along portions of Flynn Avenue, Home Avenue, and Queen City Park Road.



Crews will continue working on portions of the Champlain Parkway between Home and Lakeside Avenues.

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.
