Pine Street (South):
Pine Street will be permanently closed between Queen City Park Road and South Crest Drive starting Wednesday, March 5, to allow for the Champlain Parkway connection between Interstate 189 and Home Avenue. Traffic will be detoured at Home Avenue. Motorists should seek alternative routes! Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Starting Monday, March 3, changes to the Number 5 (Pine Street) bus route will be implemented by Green Mountain Transit to accommodate the permanent closure, for more information read GMT’s service alert notice.
Starting midweek, crews will begin constructing the cul-de-sac just south of South Crest Drive. This work will be completed within the closed section of Pine Street. This work will require driveway restrictions to the southernmost residential and commercial driveways, impacted property owners have been notified.
Off the Roadway along Future Champlain Parkway Alignment:
Work continues along the future Champlain Parkway alignment between Home Avenue and Shelburne Street (Route 7). Crews will continue installing barrier and silt fencing as well as clearing and grubbing. Crews will continue to remove the existing roadway surface and subbase material. Installation of drainage infrastructure, underdrain, street lighting conduit and pole bases, and roadway subbase will continue. These activities will take place off the roadway with limited impact to traffic.
