Construction Update

DURATION:

Unless otherwise noted, work will be restricted to the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Pine Street (north) King Street to Main Street:

The Main Street Great Streets (MSGS) and Champlain Parkway (CPP) projects continue reconstructing the intersection at Pine Street and Main Street under full intersection closure. This closure will remain in place 24/7. Mid-week, MSGS will complete their work and CPP will take over work at this intersection. Due to the closure, Pine Street between King Street and Main Street will remain open but restricted to local traffic only and accessible from King Street only. Vehicular traffic will be detoured at King Street or Maple Street through mid-week and at Kilburn Street thereafter. Thru truck traffic will be detoured at Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street. Businesses will remain open and accessible along Pine Street. Eastbound traffic on Main Street will be detoured at S. Champlain Street to College Street and westbound traffic on Main Street will be detoured at St. Paul Street to College Street.

Crews will continue working to install traffic signal conduit and other traffic signal elements at the intersection of King Street and Pine Street under lane closures with alternating one-way traffic. Throughout the week, crews will work to finish sidewalk and curb removal and placement of gravel along the west side of Pine Street between Main Street and King Street before starting the east side. One-way alternating traffic will be maintained. Pedestrians will be detoured to the open side of the roadway. Sidewalk and curb work across residential and business driveways will require short temporary driveway closures. Impacted properties will be notified directly in advance.

Pine Street at Howard Street:

In the coming weeks, S.D. Ireland will return to the site to complete the installation of the bus shelters just south of the intersection of Pine Street at Howard Street. This work is part of the initial contract which was postponed due to manufacturing delays. These activities will be completed outside of the roadway with minimal impact on traffic. Supplemental information regarding this work will follow.

Off the Roadway along the Future Champlain Parkway Alignment:

Work continues along the future Champlain Parkway alignment between Home Avenue and I-189. Crews continue grading the roadway in preparation for paving. These activities will take place off the roadway with limited impact on traffic
