CHAMPLAIN PARKWAY & MAIN STREET GREAT STREETS HIGHLIGHTS:

The Burlington Department of Public Works maintains a construction map containing traffic impacts, including traffic restrictions, roadway closures, and more, for all major construction projects in the Downtown District and the South End. Plan your travel with the most up-to-date information by using the map here.

Traffic impact highlights for the Champlain Parkway Project for Monday, February 2, through Friday, February 6, are listed below:

  • Pine Street – Kilburn Street to Maple Street: Potential for lane closures or shifts facilitate the relocation of the pedestrian crossing beacons. This work is anticipated to be completed in one day.
  • Future Champlain Parkway – I-189 to Home Avenue: Fully closed, all traffic strictly prohibited.

For more detailed information on construction activities and traffic impacts related to the Champlain Parkway Project, read the Construction Update section below.

Traffic impact highlights for the Main Street – Great Streets Project for Monday, February 2, through Friday, February 6, are listed below:

  • The Main St. corridor is open for the winter to through-traffic.
  • While some pedestrian detours may be in place, pedestrian access is maintained throughout the entire project area unless otherwise noted.
  • Main: S. Winooski-St. Paul: New traffic signals have been installed and are active. Please note that signals are either in four-way red flash or a test period (standard protocol for all new signal installations), and will be closely monitored over the next few weeks. Signals currently in flash (Main/Church, Main/St Paul) will be operating within the next few weeks.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Please note that the streetlights are currently turned on as part of a testing phase. The lights will be turned off again once testing is complete in a few weeks.
