SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Sears Lane will continue to be closed to through traffic west of Kaigle’s Service Center. Emergency vehicle access will remain. The pedestrian crossing between Sears Lane and Harrison Avenue will remain open. Vehicle access to the HULA Lakeside Offsite Parking Lot will now be from Lakeside Avenue only.  

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES, DURATION, AND TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Crews will be on-site Monday, August 8, through Friday, August 12, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. All work will be completed off the roadway within the project Right of Way.

Throughout the week, crews will continue stormwater work between Lakeside Avenue and Sears Lane. Crews will excavate the area where the sand filter will be constructed just west of the Champlain College Miller Building on Lakeside Avenue. The installation of stormwater infrastructure leading to and from the sand filter will continue along the east side of the parking area. In addition, crews will begin excavating in preparation for the installation of underdrain along the west side of 40 Sears Lane between Sears Lane and the parking area.

Work will continue on the development of new Parkway Street Segments between Sears Lane and Flynn Avenue. Crews will continue excavating the area for the stormwater detention pond and begin the installation of associated stormwater infrastructure working south towards Flynn Avenue. Crews will continue preparing the area for the installation of the box culvert. Ground improvements will continue throughout the area creating noticeable vibrations.

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street. 

PROJECTED COMPLETION: Initial Contract 2024

                                                    Final Contract 2027
