CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

Crews will continue work on utilities next week with a focus on the installation of electrical and telecommunications conduit, stormwater infrastructure, and duct bank.

Crews will continue installing stormwater infrastructure between Flynn and Home Avenues. This work will include installing the connections from the mainline on Briggs Street and Batchelder Street to the side streets such as Ferguson and Lyman Avenues and Morse Place. In addition, crews will be working on the installation of the new stormwater treatment system to be located in the back parking lot of the Flynn Avenue Co-op located at 288 Flynn Avenue. There is the potential for mobilization and preparatory activities next week with the work anticipated to begin the week of January 9. This work will take approximately one month to complete. Supplemental information will be issued to the residents of the Flynn Avenue Co-op.

Next week, crews will continue electrical and telecommunications work for residences on Briggs Street, Ferguson, Lyman, and Home Avenues. This work will require service connections to residences over the upcoming weeks. A member of the Champlain Parkway project team has reached out to property owners in advance to schedule service connections.

There is the potential for duct bank installation to begin along Home Avenue between Queen City Park Road and Foster Street.

Independent utility companies will be onsite over the next several weeks relocating existing utilities. Next week, Consolidate Communications and Burlington Telecommunications will be onsite cutting over to the new services on Flynn Avenue. There is the potential for utility service disruptions as part of this work. Impacted businesses and residents will be notified in advance by the independent utility companies.
