SPECIAL NOTICE & TRAFFIC ADVISORY:

Line Striping and Pavement Marking Installation along Pine Street to Take Place in the Coming Weeks

Line striping and pavement marking installation along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street is anticipated to take place the week of April 27, if weather and the subcontractor’s schedule allow. This work will require Pine Street to be restricted to local traffic only, access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Traffic holds and lane closures with alternating one-way traffic or traffic shifts will be needed. Traffic, especially traffic entering and exiting driveways on Pine Street, may be held for up to 30 minutes while epoxy cures. Cure times are dependent on temperature.

Line striping and pavement marking installation will cause major impacts to traffic and parking. Motorists should expect delays, plan extra travel time, and seek alternative routes whenever possible. A detour route will be signed utilizing Kilburn Street, St. Paul Street, and College Street. On-street parking will be prohibited along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street while this work takes place. Line striping and pavement marking installation will reconfigure the roadway permanently eliminating the on-street parking between Maple Street and Kilburn Street to accommodate bike lanes.

DURATION:

Unless otherwise noted, work will be restricted to the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Friday.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

I-189 Westbound – West of the Farrell Street Overpass: Starting early next week, crews will work to install the footings for the overhead signs located over I-189 westbound west of the Farrell Street overpass. This work will require a lane closure on I-189 westbound between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

Route 7 (Shelburne Road) – Near the I-189 Westbound Off Ramp:

Starting mid-week, crews work to install the foundations for the overhead sign located over Route 7 (Shelburne Road) just north of the I-189 Westbound Off Ramp. This work will require a single lane closure along Route 7 south.

Champlain Parkway – I-189 to Home Avenue:

The segment of the Champlain Parkway between Interstate 189 and Home Avenue is not completed and is not open for public access. Active construction continues along this segment, which includes the movement and transport of construction vehicles, equipment, and materials. All other access (vehicular, pedestrian, or bicycle) is strictly prohibited.

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street.
