CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Pine Street

Work continues on Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue. Early next week, crew will complete the remaining curb preparation work along the west side of Pine Street, south of Lakeside Avenue near Cumberland Farms, before starting along the east side at the southern construction limit (near Play Dog Play) and working north. Another crew will continue prepping for the installation of curb beginning just south of Kilburn Street and working south. Curb crews will be onsite mid-week install curb along the east side of Pine Street starting at Kilburn Street and progressing south. The rehabilitation and installation of stormwater and drainage infrastructure will continue along both sides of Pine Street throughout the week.

This work will require sections of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue to be under lane shifts or single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic. There is the potential for the temporary loss of segments of on-street parking to facilitate lane shifts. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained along Pine Street each day between 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Construction activities along the east and west sides of Pine Street will be staged to provide an appropriate distance between work zones to allow for the maintenance of traffic along the entire length of Pine Street. The bike lanes along Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue are closed.

There is the potential for short closures of select side streets at their intersection with Pine Street between Kilburn and Locust Streets to facilitate stormwater infrastructure and drainage work. Each side street closure may take a few days. Side streets will be reopened each evening between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. A detour route will be signed for each closure. Supplemental notices will follow.

Curb installation will require driveways to be reduced to a single lane. Impacted property owners will be notified separately.

Lakeside Avenue at Pine Street

Late next week, crews will pave the roadway at the intersection of Lakeside Avenue and Pine Street. This work will require lane closures. Please note that paving operations are subject to weather and subcontractor availability.

Lakeside Avenue

Work will continue along Lakeside Avenue between Pine Street and the westerly driveway of 128 Lakeside Avenue (the Innovation Center) intermittently. Crews will continue installing sections of curb and sidewalk. In addition, crews will continue constructing the shared-use path along the northside between Pine Street and the Champlain Parkway. This work will require intermittent single-lane reductions with alternating one-way traffic.

Flynn Avenue

Sidewalk installation will continue along Flynn Avenue between Foster Street and just west of the railroad crossing. In addition, independent utility work will continue along Flynn Avenue between Briggs Street and the railroad tracks. Portions of Flynn Avenue will be reduced to a single lane with alternating one-way traffic.

South End

Over the next several weeks, crews will be performing general construction clean-up activities throughout the South End.

Late next week, crews will pave the remaining driveways throughout the south end. This work will take place along the sideroads between Lakeside Avenue and Home Avenue. Paving operations will require driveways to be reduced to a single lane or temporarily closed. Impacted property owners will be notified separately. Please note that paving operations are subject to weather and subcontractor availability.
