CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Pine Street (north) Main Street to Kilburn Street:

Main Street at Pine Street Intersection:

Crews will be removing the remaining existing traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Main Street at Pine Street. This work will be completed primarily outside of the roadway, but may require lane restrictions to accommodate equipment and materials. The intersection will remain open to traffic.

Pine Street – Main Street to Maple Street:

Crews will work to complete the installation of the remain sidewalk along Pine Street between Main Street and King Street early next week. Starting Monday, crews will begin installing sidewalk along Pine Street between King Street and Maple Street working north to south. Crews will start with installation along the west side before transitioning to the east side. Sidewalk work is weather-dependent. This work will require temporary driveway closures lasting 50 hours while crews form and pour the concrete and allow the concrete to cure long enough to be driven over. Impacted properties will be notified directly in advance. Pedestrians will be detoured to the open travel path on either side of the roadway.

This work will be completed primarily outside of the roadway, but will require lane restrictions to accommodate equipment and materials. Pine Street will be restricted to one-way southbound between Main Street and Maple Street. Northbound vehicular traffic along Pine Street will be detoured at Maple Street to St. Paul Street or Battery Street. Northbound thru truck traffic will be detoured at Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street to College Street. Local truck traffic will still be able to access areas along Pie Street between Kilburn Street and Maple Street.

King Street at Pine Street Intersection:

Early next week, independent utility companies will be working to relocate aerial utilities at the intersection of King Street and Pine Street. This work will be completed under lane closures with alternating one-way traffic and parking restrictions.

Maple Street at Pine Street Intersection:

Independent utility companies will be working to relocate aerial utilities at the intersection of Maple Street and Pine Street. This work will be completed under lane closures with alternating one-way traffic and parking restrictions.

Off the Roadway along the Future Champlain Parkway Alignment:

Work continues along the future Champlain Parkway alignment between Home Avenue and I-189. Early next week, crews will be grading and placing subbase in preparation for the installation of median barriers anticipated to start mid-week. These activities will take place off the roadway with limited impact on traffic. Please note, there will be increased construction vehicle traffic at the Parkway and Shelburne Street (Route 7) and Home Avenue. Motorists are reminded that this segment of the Champlain Parkway is NOT open to traffic of any kind.
