Pine Street (north) - Main Street to Kilburn Street:
Main Street at Pine Street Intersection:
Starting Thursday, 9/18, or Friday, 9/19, there is the potential for the remaining granite curb to be installed at the intersection of Main Street at Pine Street. This work will require lane and pedestrian access restrictions. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be maintained.
| | |
King Street at Pine Street Intersection:
Next week, crews will continue working to install the brick paver crosswalks at the intersection of King Street and Pine Street. Crews will continue working on the crosswalk across the easterly leg of King Street. Crews will continue placing the brick pavers and granite edging before paving the approaches and installing polymer sand. This work will require the easterly leg of King Street at its intersection with Pine Street to continue to be closed through Tuesday, 9/16, at 7 PM. The easterly block of King Street will remain accessible via St. Paul Street.
| | |
Maple Street at Pine Street Intersection:
Starting Thursday, 9/18, or Friday, 9/19, there is the potential for the remaining granite curb to be installed at the intersection of Maple Street at Pine Street. This work will require lane and pedestrian access restrictions. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be maintained.
Please note: Bump outs are being installed on the northeast and northwest corners of the intersection of Maple Street at Pine Street. As part of this work, Maple Street will no longer serve as a truck route. Trucks making deliveries along Maple Street will continue to be able to do so, but thru trucks along Maple Street will no longer be permitted. Thru trucks should use alternate city truck routes and follow all truck detour routes (Pine Street to Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street to College Street. Local delivery trucks should use caution as some turning movements will be tighter and high traffic volumes during the peak hours will serve to make some of these movements even more challenging.
If granite curb installation is postponed, crews will begin working to install the brick paver crosswalks at the intersection of Maple Street and Pine Street. Crews will begin working on the crosswalk across the easterly leg of Maple Street. Crews will first saw cut to remove the existing pavement, place the subbase, and pour the concrete slab before starting to place the brick pavers and granite edging. Crews will finish placing the brick pavers and granite edging the following week, before paving the approaches and installing polymer sand. This work will require the easterly leg of Maple Street at its intersection with Pine Street to be closed starting Thursday, 9/18, and continue through the following week. This closure would be in place over the weekend. The easterly block of Maple Street will remain accessible via St. Paul Street.
A supplemental Traffic Alert will be distributed next week, notifying stakeholders of the activities and traffic impacts that will take place on Thursday, 9/18, and Friday, 9/19.
Pine Street – Maple Street to Kilburn Street:

The Soda Plant will remain open as this work continues. This work will require Pine Street between Maple Street and Kilburn Street to be restricted to northbound traffic only along this segment while southbound traffic will only be permitted between the Soda Plant and Kilburn Street. Throughout the week, pedestrians will be detoured to the east side of Pine Street. Businesses will remain open and residences will remain accessible.
