Champlain Parkway Project
DATE: Wednesday, November 26, 2025
| | |
Crews will be off-site on Wednesday, November 26, through Sunday, November 30, in observation of the Thanksgiving holiday. Significant winter shutdown will begin Monday, December 1, when crews will return and resume limited construction activities.
Next week, there is the potential for crews to continue line striping and pavement markings along Pine Street, between Main Street and Kilburn Street, as weather permits.
During the installation of line striping and pavement markings, Pine Street will see temporary restrictions. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Lane closures with alternating one-way traffic or traffic shifts and traffic holds will be in effect as required. Traffic, especially traffic entering or exiting driveways on Pine Street, may be held for up to 30 minutes while the epoxy cures. Cure times are dependent on temperature.
During the installation of line striping and pavement markings, on-street parking will be prohibited along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street. The installation of the permanent line striping and pavement markings will reconfigure Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street. As part of the reconfiguration, the on-street parking along Pine Street between Maple Street and Kilburn Street will be permanently eliminated and the roadway width will be repurposed to accommodate bike lanes along either side of the roadway.

Pine Street (north) - Main Street to Kilburn Street:
Crews will be installing line striping and pavement markings along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street throughout the week, as weather allows. The subcontractor will prioritize the installation of the most important line striping and pavement markings for road functionality, including lane lines, stop bars, turning lanes, and crosswalks. This work is highly dependent on weather and other variables, making the schedule subject to change.
In addition, crews will be performing general cleanup and continuing to conduct signal work along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street. There is the potential for vault work at the intersection of Pine Street and King Street that may impact sidewalk access.

Off the Roadway along the Future Champlain Parkway Alignment:
Work continues along the future Champlain Parkway alignment between Home Avenue and I-189. Crews will work to make the streetlights along the Champlain Parkway operational. In addition, crews will continue installing roadway signage along the closed ramps connecting Shelburne Street (Route 7) south to the Champlain Parkway north (Ramp D) and Shelburne Street (Route 7) north to the Champlain Parkway north (Ramp B). This work will take place off the roadway along the closed section of the Champlain Parkway, with no impacts to traffic.
The segment of the Champlain Parkway between Interstate 189 and Home Avenue is not completed and is not open for public access. Active construction continues along this segment, which includes the movement and transport of construction vehicles, equipment, and materials. All other access (vehicular, pedestrian, or bicycle) is strictly prohibited.
