The Burlington DPW invites you to attend a hybrid public meeting to learn more about the improvements, construction activities, potential impacts, and schedule of the work along Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Main Street.

Starting as early as April, work will begin on the rehabilitation of Pine Street (north) between Kilburn Street and Main Street. Improvements to Pine Street include drainage upgrades, new granite curb, pavement, line striping, permanent roadway signage, pedestrian accommodation improvements, the installation of new traffic signals at Maple and King Streets, and upgrades to the existing traffic signal at Main Street. This work will be completed predominately on weekdays between the hours of 7 AM – 7PM with potential night and weekend work if needed. This work will require temporary block segment road closures with short detours and instances of one-lane with alternating one-way traffic. Some work will require temporary driveway width reductions and sidewalk closures. Pedestrian detours will be signed. Access to businesses will be maintained.

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract, conditionally accepted in December 2024, included the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.



The final contract, broke ground in January 2025, includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from existing I-189 near its intersection with U.S. Route 7 to Home Avenue, and the section of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Main Street.
