Water Work
Crews are currently working on installing water line on Briggs Street and Ferguson Avenue through the week working towards Morse Place with the potential for work to begin on Morse Place late this week. Next week, crews will work to install water lines and services on Morse Place and Batchelder Street through midday Wednesday, November 23. In addition, crews maybe install water services along Lyman and Ferguson Avenues.
Traffic on Briggs Street will continue to be shifted onto the temporary gravel roadway constructed along east side of Briggs Street. Ferguson Avenue will continue to be closed at its intersection with Briggs Street through Friday, November 18. Work along Morse Place will be completed under lane closure. Batchelder Street will continue to be restricted to local access only.
After the Thanksgiving holiday, crews will begin water line and service work along Home Avenue. This work will be completed under single lane closures with altnerating east-west traffic and a two-day closure. Home Ave will be closed for two days from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. between the shared-use path just east of Queen City Park Rd and Foster St to facilitate this work. A detour route will be signed. Supplemental notices will be distributed and posted to the project website. Local and residential access will be maintained between Foster Street and Pine Street. There is the potential for impacts to residential or business driveways within the work zone during the closure period. Impacted property owners will be notified in advance.
There is the potential for short-term water service disruptions to take place after the completion of the installation and testing of the new water line. Water tie-ins are anticipated to take place over several days and last approximately 4 hours each. Impacted businesses and residents will be notified in advance by Burlington Water Resources or a member of the Champlain Parkway Project Team.
