Crews continue utility work between Flynn Avenue and Home Avenue along segments of Briggs Street, Ferguson Avenue, Lyman Avenue, Morse Place, Batchelder Street, and Home Avenue. This work began on Monday, September 19. This work is anticipated to continue into the winter as long as the weather permits. There is the potential for this work to continue into next construction season.
This utility work has been and will continue to be completed under single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic, side road access restrictions, and short full roadway closures.
Current, traffic pattern changes include:
- Lyman Avenue will continue to be closed at its intersection with Briggs Street until utility work is complete. Roadway access will be restored to allow winter roadway maintenance as the weather dictates.
- Batchelder Street will remain closed to through traffic during working hours. Residential access will be maintained. Through traffic between Home Avenue and Morse Place will be maintained via a temporary roadway constructed just west of Batchelder Street.
- The two-day closure of Home Avenue between Foster Street and Batchelder Street has ended. Home Avenue will be restricted to one lane with alternating east-west traffic during working hours throughout the week.
Access to residential and business driveways will be maintained during the utility work. Residents and businesses will be notified directly of any additional direct impacts. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone. Work will be confined to weekdays during daylight hours.
