Traffic Alert

Nighttime Closure and Detour of Pine Street just north of Lakeside Avenue in Burlington, VT

Starting TONIGHT, Monday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m., and continuing into tomorrow morning, Tuesday, September 26, at 6:00 a.m., Pine Street will be closed just north of its intersection with Lakeside Avenue. 


Lakeside Avenue will remain open at its intersection with Pine Street. Movements will be restricted to accommodate the closure of Pine Street. There is the potential for lane width reductions or single-lane closures along Lakeside Avenue and Pine Street at the intersection. 


Pine Street traffic will be detoured along Lakeside Avenue and through the Department of Public Works (DPW) parking lot which connects Lakeside Avenue and Pine Street. A detour graphic is provided below.

ABOUT THE CHAMPLAIN PARKWAY PROJECT

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.
