Closure of Pine Place at its intersection

with Pine Street in Burlington, VT

Starting Thursday, November 2, at 7:00 a.m., and continuing throughout the day, Pine Place will be closed at its intersection with Pine Street to facilitate the installation of drainage infrastructure. Pine Place will reopen at the intersection by 7 p.m.

Access to and egress from Pine Place will be maintained via St. Paul Street. Pine Street will continue to be reduced to a single lane between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street with traffic restricted to northbound only with southbound vehicles detoured from Pine Street to Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street continuing to Shelburne Street to Flynn Avenue and back to Pine Street. All side streets between Kilburn Street and Lakeside Avenue will be restricted to right turn only at their intersection with Pine Street except for Pine Place which will be closed. Motorists accessing Pine Place from Pine Street will take Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street to Pine Place. Motorists exiting Pine Place for points south along Pine Street will follow the detour above. Motorists exiting Pine Place for points north along Pine Street will take St. Paul Street to Kilburn Street back to Pine Street. See the detour graphic below. 

Flaggers will be stationed at each side street to assist motorists. A Uniform Traffic Officer (UTO) will be present at the intersection of Kilburn Street at Pine Street and Lakeside Avenue at Pine Street to assist motorists.

ABOUT THE CHAMPLAIN PARKWAY PROJECT

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.
