Traffic Impacts, Delays, and Rough Surface Conditions along Flynn Avenue in 

in Burlington, VT

Starting TOMORROW, Thursday, July 27, through, Friday, July 28, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., motorists should expect traffic impacts, delays, and rough roadway surfaces along Flynn Avenue between Foster Street and just west of the railroad crossing. Crews will be fine-grading the roadway in preparation for paving operations anticipated to take place Monday, July 31. Paving operations are weather dependent. Flynn Avenue will be reduced to a single-lane with one-way alternating traffic controlled by a flagger as crews complete fine-grading and paving.

Motorists can expect rough and uneven surfaces, a narrow travel lane, and major delays as crews complete fine-grading along Flynn Avenue. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and avoid the work zone, if possible. Throughout the week, access will be maintained along Flynn Avenue and businesses will remain open.

ABOUT THE CHAMPLAIN PARKWAY PROJECT

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.
