THE INTERSECTION OF MAPLE STREET AT PINE STREET WILL BE FULLY CLOSED WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, THROUGH THURSDAY, AUGUST 21

The intersection of Maple Street at Pine Street will be fully closed starting TOMORROW, Wednesday, August 20, at 7 AM through Thursday, August 21, at 7 PM, to allow crews to fine-grade and pave the intersection. This closure will be in place overnight. Motorists should seek alternate routes!

Pine Street between Maple Street and Kilburn Street will be restricted to local traffic only and accessible from the south. Pine Street between King Street and Maple Street will be restricted to local traffic only and accessible from the north. Businesses will remain open and residences will remain accessible.

All thru vehicular traffic, including trucks, will be detoured at College Street (southbound) and Kilburn Street (northbound) to St. Paul Street.

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract, conditionally accepted in December 2024, included the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.



The final contract, which broke ground in January 2025, includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from existing I-189 near its intersection with U.S. Route 7 to Home Avenue and the section of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Main Street.
