Nightwork scheduled for Monday, July 10, then Tuesday, July 11, was postponed due to inclement weather and oversaturated subsurface conditions.
Nightwork has been rescheduled and will begin TONIGHT, Wednesday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. through Thursday, July 13, at 6:30 a.m. Crews will be installing waterline infrastructure at the intersection of Pine Street and Lakeside Avenue under single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by a flagger.
Pine Street will reopen to two-way traffic by 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13. Motorists should use caution as portions of the roadway surface will be gravel and may be uneven. Crews will return to pave the disturbed sections of Pine Street between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. under single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by a flagger.
Lakeside Avenue will remain closed at its intersection with Pine Street. The section of Lakeside Avenue between Pine Street and the westerly driveway of 128 Lakeside Avenue (the Innovation Center) will continue to be closed for up to six weeks. The closure will remain in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the closure period as crews continue to install underground utilities, new traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Lakeside Avenue and the Champlain Parkway alignment, and the reconstruction of Lakeside Avenue. This work will take place Monday through Friday, predominantly during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Access to residents and businesses west of the closure area will continue to be maintained via the signed detour route utilizing Pine Street, Sears Lane, Searsway Lane, a temporary roadway constructed through the existing Hula Parking Lot, and Lakeside Avenue (as shown below in pink). Pedestrian access will be maintained as shown in green below.
