Planned Construction Activities and Traffic Pattern Changes for the Remainder of the Week along Pine Street
Tomorrow, Thursday, September 18, and Friday, September 19, crews will focus on the installation of concrete sidewalk and the adjustment of surface level structures along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street. On the southwest corner of the intersection of Main Street and Pine Street, crews will be adjusting structures and pouring some of the remaining sections of concrete. This work will require lane restrictions. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be maintained, though pedestrians may be directed around the work area. Crews will be installing concrete sidewalks along the east side of Pine Street tomorrow, Thursday, September 18, through Friday, September 19.
On Friday, September 19, crews will begin installing concrete sidewalk along the west side of Pine Street near Maple Street. Pine Street will be restricted to local traffic only between Maple Street and Kilburn Street. Business and residential access will be maintained. Thru truck traffic will be detoured via Kilburn Street and St. Paul Street. Thru vehicular traffic should seek alternative routes. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the entire length, alternating sides.
Additionally, crews will be adjusting surface structures to final grade within the roadway along Pine Street between Main Street and Kilburn Street in preparation for final paving. This will require small segment mobile work zones with traffic shifts and instances of one-way alternating traffic.
Please note that granite curb installation has been postponed and is tentatively scheduled for the week of September 22. Brick paver crosswalk installation at the intersection of Maple Street and Pine Street has also been postponed until the week of September 29.
