TODAY, THURSDAY, JULY 31, THE INTERSECTION OF MAPLE STREET AT PINE STREET WILL BE FULLY CLOSED

The intersection of Maple Street at Pine Street will be fully closed TODAY, Thursday, July 31, starting at 7 AM and continuing through the afternoon. The intersection will be reopened by 3 PM, before traffic peaks. Crews will be removing the existing sidewalk and curb at the intersection in preparation for upcoming traffic signal infrastructure installation scheduled for next week (8/4-8/8). Motorists should seek alternative routes!

Pine Street between Maple Street and Kilburn Street will be restricted to local traffic only and accessible from the south. Pine Street between King Street and Maple Street will be restricted to local traffic only and accessible from the north. Businesses will remain open and residents will remain accessible.

Vehicular traffic will be detoured at King Street (southbound) and Kilburn Street (northbound) to St. Paul Street. Thru truck traffic will be detoured at College Street (southbound) and Kilburn Street (northbound) to St. Paul Street.

PROJECT LOCATION:

The Champlain Parkway Project spans a 2.8-mile area from the I-189 intersection with US 7 to Lakeside Avenue, and includes upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Main Street. 

The initial contract, conditionally accepted in December 2024, included the construction of the Champlain Parkway from Home Avenue to Lakeside Avenue, upgrades to Lakeside Avenue, and improvements to the section of Pine Street between Lakeside Avenue and Kilburn Street.



The final contract, which broke ground in January 2025, includes the construction of the Champlain Parkway from existing I-189 near its intersection with U.S. Route 7 to Home Avenue and the section of Pine Street between Kilburn Street and Main Street.
