Traffic Pattern Changes along Pine Street between Main Street and Maple Street in Burlington, VT
The intersection of Main Street and Pine Street reopened Friday, June 6. This intersection will remain open on nights and weekends. The intersection will close intermittently during active work hours (Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 7 PM) as needed to accommodate specific construction activities, including curb installation, paving operations, and traffic signal work. There is the potential for curb installation to take place later this week for approximately two days. During this work, the intersection will fully close during work hours. Pine Street between Main Street and King Street will be restricted to local traffic only during the closure and be accessible via King Street only. A supplemental Traffic Alert will be issued prior to the closure.
Starting TOMORROW, Wednesday, June 11, through Friday, June 13, crews will be milling (removing the existing pavement) and fine grading Pine Street between just south of its intersection with Main Street and just north of its intersection with Maple Street. On Wednesday and Thursday, crews will mill along the full length. This work will be completed half at a time requiring two passes. On Friday, crews will begin fine grading along the full length with work performed a block at a time. Pine Street will be reduced to a single lane with alternating one-way traffic where active work is taking place. On-street parking restrictions will be in effect. Pine Street will be restricted to local traffic only. Please seek alternate routes where possible. Thru truck traffic will be detoured at Kilburn Street to St. Paul Street. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained, but delays should be expected. Please note, roadway surfaces will be rough and uneven with raised structures and sideroad/driveway transitions. Please use caution when traveling on milled or gravel surfaces.
