Seafood City ready to open at Chandler Fashion Center

Seafood City Logo

Seafood City, a Filipino Asian supermarket chain, will open its first store in Arizona on July 30. The new store will occupy nearly 66,000 square feet on the southwest side of Chandler Fashion Center and feature an assortment of items from across the Philippines, Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam and beyond. The grand opening festivities will include cultural performances, exclusive opening-day offers, giveaways and special promotions throughout the day.

The opening of Seafood City highlights Macerich's ability to attract exciting, new tenants to Chandler Fashion Center as well as the strong interest Chandler is seeing from Asian retailers looking to establish a presence in the community. Round1 Bowling & Arcade, originating from Japan, opened last year at the mall and Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant, is expected to open in 2027.

ICYMI: Chandler City Council lowers primary property tax rate for the 11th consecutive year

City of Chandler Logo

The Chandler City Council recently adopted the Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget and 2027-36 Capital Improvement Program, with a focus on keeping costs low for residents and businesses while continuing to invest in critical city services and planning for the community's future.

One of the most visible impacts is another reduction in Chandler's primary property tax rate for the 11th year in a row. Other highlights of the budget include:

  • Chandler offers the lowest general sales tax rate in Arizona at 1.5 percent.
  • Chandler offers the lowest overall cost of government services among large Valley cities based on utility rates and estimated taxes paid.
  • Chandler's budget is structurally balanced with ongoing revenues supporting ongoing expenses and the operating and capital budgets have been adjusted to account for continued inflation.

The city's ability to lower its property tax rate while also providing high-quality services and infrastructure is a reflection of City Council's commitment to sound budgeting practices. Chandler's AAA bond ratings from all three rating agencies help keep financing costs low, producing savings for businesses investing in our community as the city finances its own major capital improvements.
