I am not so good with change out of my control, are you? We humans/huwomans get so comfy cozy and snuggly, all settled in to how we like our lives to operate, we don't like when life comes along and bumps us about, uproots our stuff, our people, our things, our situations, and our relationships. Leave me alone already, Mr. Change, I like things just the way they are!
Then sometimes, we are the ones switching things around - sometimes out of choice, sometimes out of necessity, sometimes automatically without a thought: such as changing lanes, changing clothes, changing direction, changing our minds, changing the toilet paper roll, and if you have a handbag fetish like me, changing purses daily. :-D
We might like the change, such as a change of scenery (vacation!), change in our pockets, or changing the color of our nail polish. We change time zones, switch jobs, move to a different house or state, and move out of a toxic relationship in search of a healthier someone - or take time to regroup alone.
We cannot always face the change. We remain in denial. We turn the other way and ignore it. We feel down and out about it. Change can wreak havoc on our day, year, life. We can feel scared and run away from it, or we can gather strength and stay to face the change. We can practice acceptance, tolerance. Strength also comes in the form of making the decision to make the change ourselves.
What changes are you facing that you like? Don't like?
Whichever kind of change is happening - voluntarily or put upon us by the universe - we gotta plunge in and move with it.
Making changes, taking great risks, is not only necessary for our growth ... it can yield unbelievable results. Moving on might be exactly what we need.
