“We have this hope, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul …” – Hebrews 6:19
An anchor holds a vessel in place while the waters move around it freely – a perfect image as we embrace hope as an anchor during unprecedented times. Our summer theme, “Dare Mighty Things,” calls us once again to remain hopeful even as we announce a major change to our summer ministries.
St. Andrew’s is now suspending overnight trips and in-person events for children and youth through August. This includes all children’s day camps, youth mission trips and retreats, Summer Stretch, and other in-person events currently planned for the summer.
While this is a difficult decision to make, the safety and well-being of our children and youth remain our priority and many of our partners, including camps and mission organizations, have reached a similar conclusion.
But, no virus can take away what we love about summer! Our team is excited to shape new and creative ways to connect with, serve, and support families in the months ahead – whether online, at a distance, at home, or in-person when it’s deemed safe to do so. We’ve already shared a new plan for
Vacation Bible School
to be online, at-home events. Stay tuned for other opportunities as they emerge!
We are reminded that, no matter what, we're anchored and bound to one another in Christ. We are in this together!
