Coaching for recovery
Will Eberle leads Recovery Vermont, which has trained more than 600 people to be substance abuse recovery coaches. "As a person who has been through this directly, it's almost never isolated to just substance abuse, it's almost always a relatively logical response to a complex stew of life events involving trauma, poverty, abuse, incarceration, or family dynamics." Eberle spoke at the Free Speaker Series at Hartford Dismas House, a transitional community for recently incarcerated people. Produced for JAM by Rick Russell

Public Opinion in Israel
"Do Israelis and Palestinians Really Want Peace?" asked Dartmouth's most recent Dialogue Project event at the Dickey Center at Dartmouth College. "In terms of everything to do with Gaza, the Israeli public has taken a belligerent attitude and tends to believe Israel needs to do everything to destroy Hamas," said Tel Aviv-based political consultant and pollster Dahlia Scheindlin, author of The Crooked Timber of Democracy in Israel: Promise Unfulfilled.

Hayden's humor
"Haydn had a wonderful sense of humor," said Mark Nelson, conductor of the newly named Upper Valley Symphony Orchestra. It performed one of the Austrian composer's most popular works –Symphony No. 103, aka "The Drumroll". "This symphony mixes the extraordinary lugubriousness of the opening mellow, low string bassoon with just a lovely light air," Nelson told his Lebanon Opera House audience on April 14, 2024.
